We have purchased 29 gallons of FLEX SEAL liquid 128-fl oz grey dip rubberized coating (2-pack ) and single gallon purchases from Lowes and 8 gallons from home depot for our basement floor and basement walls, your product required 2 to 3 coats to stop leaks after I had already sealed floor and wall cracks with another self-leveling crack sealer product. There are several other companys out there that could take some honesty lessons from FLEX SEAL ( THIS following review has been edited by myself Harold Watkins ) I am responding as you ask me to do. cost $3,700.00 ( WOW BIG DIFFERANCE ) My wife and I are 80 years old and we did all the work by our selfs we just took our time also after the 1st coat you do not have to wait till it is not raining because it stops the water from coming in apply more coats for stronger protection and longevity I truly do recommend this product and truly recommend the FLEX SEAL COMPANY and special thanks to Ashanti McKissic Customer Care ManagerSwift Response, LLC for their super fast responce to our grey color problem again thank you FLEX SEAL P.S. We had basement waterproofing estimates between $30,000.00 and $42,000.00 this product cost near $100.00 per gallon and we purchased 29 gallons from 1 source and 8 gallons from another sourse total =37 gallons est. We have done our whole basement walls and floors with this product this product will and does stand up to hydrostaic water pressure if it is appied in 2 to 3 coats we were told it probably would not stand up to normal foot traffic in our basement (NOT TRUE) we have scooted and pushed and walked all over the floor no problem unless you really scape hard on the floor but you have to apply this product properly clean the surface have no loose stuff and dry and apply 2 to 3 coats let dry well 2 to 3 days between coats also venilate the area well. The day that I published my negitive review of this product THE FLEX SEAL COMPANY called me at home and offered a solution to my problem with the grey color WOW they wasted no time they have made me more then happy ( WHAT A GREAT COMPANY ) I have always liked their products the FLEX SEAL Liquid 128-fl oz Gray Dip Rubberized Coating is a great water proofer we have had water in our basement when it rained hard. MY NEWEST EDITED REVIEW OF FLEX SEAL PRODUCT ( THIS has been edited by myself ) I 1hammer1 am changing my negitive review of FLEX SEAL Liquid 128-fl oz Gray Dip Rubberized Coating. This stuff is amazing and I'm completely blown away by it's ease of use and effectiveness. Although the storm isn't over I have no reason to believe that it's not going to last. Well, It worked! I woke up the next morning to a dry home. Again completely believing that this is not going to work. I did the best I could with what little product I had. I didn't have enough to give it a second coat. I used both cans applying it to the seams of each tile in the effected area. There is no way $30 worth of TV snake oil was going to get the job done. The cheapest est I got from a local roofing company to patch it was $2,500.00 usd. Because there is no way this is going to work. When I went to bed that night I set up the buckets and had the tarp ready as I full expected to have to put it back on in the morning. I didn't believe in it and thought it was a complete waist of time. Never in my life have I felt so desperate. I went to the local ACE and bought 2 cans of Flex seal. So the day before the massive storm was going to hit us. Unfortunately we discovered we couldn't finance a new roof and didn't have the money or know how to get it done on my own. We were able to tarp it but wanted to get it properly fixed. There was a massive storm coming in and the last time we had rain our roof had a massive leak in it. The only reason why I even bothered with this product was because I was very desperate. Any questions just text me Machineandtoolservices web site. Ps, Be patient let it cure and dry for 3days or more, give the rubber a chance to expand into the grooves and small crevices. I will be posting some youtube videos of my CNC Mill and Band Saw running flood coolant. It's a no brainer Flex Seal works, if you do it right. Do not brush over large gaps and holes, cover first with fibre glass mesh or thin wood then brush on Flex seal. My band saw needed a coolant tank too, so i made a wooden box 1/2"thick wood 3ft x 2ft x 4inch wall height, then applied flex seal, both spray and brush on, focusing on the most likely leak areas, with thicker coat, and again no leaks. I own a machine shop I bought a small cnc mill, but it needed coolant, the coolant tank was leaking in many places, I applied both, can of seal and spray seal, (a must let it sit and cure between layers, i used 3 layers) after a few days i put water in it and tested it for 5 hours, and no leak. My Review of flex seal spray and flexseal Can.

The remaster gave Kapi a red cap with a black visor, a jacket instead of a hoodie, a new belt (which appears to be a little too big for him, as it has a lot of slack on Kapi's left), and slightly enhanced shoe accents. In his 4th song, Nyaw, Kapi is no longer angry. His down pose has a lightning bolt, his left pose has an anger symbol, his up pose has sweat, and his right pose has dark lines. In his third song, Hairball, he is angry and his poses have symbols. He stands on a typical DDR pad with a red handle bar and greyish base, the Up and Down arrows are colored blue and the Left and Right arrows are colored pink He wears a reddish-pink, blue and yellow hoodie with hanging strings, dark grey pants and a pair of blue and dark grey shoes with white accents. He also sports 2 long spiky whiskers on either side of his face and three piercings on his right ear. He has big bushy eyebrows, eyes that reflect light, a small button nose, 3 freckles on both cheeks, and a single sharp tooth poking out of the corner of his mouth. Kapi is a grey-furred anthropomorphic cat with long grey hair that he ties back into a ponytail, and combs forward to his left. He also has an unused song called Fuzzy Distortion Appearance His week comes with 4 songs those of which are Wocky, Beathoven, Hairball, and Nyaw.
When all of the pieces are in place on both sides of the frame, leave it to dry completely. (Just an FYI, this is the back of the vent cover.)Ĭut a small piece of leftover yard stick to use as a guide to ensure that the pieces are positioned flush with the frame. Be sure to press the pieces firmly to the frame so that they don’t “float” on the wood glue and shift. Now use wood glue to place the little dowel pieces at each mark on both sides of the vent frame. As I mentioned above, if your vent will be eye-level or higher, you will probably want to place your slats closer together. For my own vent, I marked 1/2-inch down from the top, and then every 1.5 inches after that. Next take your frame (with the thoroughly and completely dry wood glue), and measure and mark the spacing for the slats. If you have a new blade on your saw, you shouldn’t have this problem. They also turned out a bit rough looking, but as long as one side had a clean cut angle, they were usable. I cut probably twice as many pieces as I needed, because my saw would throw the pieces several feet from my work area, and then I’d have to go hunt for them. This was actually the hardest part of the project simply because my saw needs a new blade. If your vent will be more eye-level or higher, you will probably want to use a 45-degree angle and put the slats closer together than I did on my vent. □ I’m still really curious about that 31.62-degree marking though. (What the heck is that angle used for, anyway? It must be important to warrant it’s very own marking on my saw! But 31.62 sounds very odd, and very precise, doesn’t it?)Įdit: LOL…Okay, as I was reading back over these instructions, I realize that I DIDN’T use the 31.62-degree setting. I didn’t want a severe angle because I didn’t want to take a chance at all at blocking the air flow, so I found that this 31.62 angle was idea for my design. You can adjust the angle to the angle you want for your slats. While the frame is drying, take the square dowel rod, and cut the support pieces for the slats of the vent. Use the framing square to be really sure it’s perfectly square, and then leave it alone (resist the urge to touch it, pick it up, or mess with it in any way) until it’s completely dry. When all four pieces are connected, set the frame aside to dry completely. Use two brads from the side, and two brads from the bottom on all four corners. If everything lines up, then use wood glue and a brad nailer to attach the pieces. With the pieces cut, use a framing square to dry fit the pieces to be sure they’ll all line up square on the corners. Be sure to cut them long enough so that the frame of the vent won’t cover any portion of the air return vent. Next use a miter saw to cut the MDF boards into the four lengths for the frame of your vent. This is actually imprinted into the wood, so sand until all of the markings are all gone, and then sand a bit more just to be really sure all of the imprints are gone. …and use and electric sander to remove all of the markings from one side of the yard stick. Use the “C” clamps to keep them perfectly aligned and set them aside to dry completely. Electric sander with 150-grit sandpaper įirst, take the two MDF boards and glue them back to back.8 wood yard sticks (you might need more or less depending on the size of your vent).1 square dowel rod measuring 1/4″ x 1/4″ x 36″.2 pre-primed MDF boards measuring 1″ x 2″ x 8 feet.So do you want to see how I made my new vent cover? Here are the details… Tools & Supplies: Not too bad! Heck, if I could have found a new metal one that would have fit (and trust me, I’ve looked and looked), it would have cost about $20. But now everything is fresh, new, and updated!Īnd the cost of my new vent cover? About $12.50. So what do you think?! Wait! Before you answer that, let me remind you what this looked like before this little transformation…Įwwwwww!!! So gross!! A little flooding, some messy floor painting, and 35+ years of age on that vent (during which it clearly never once saw a fresh coat of paint) had really wreaked havoc on this area. Yes, I tend to do things a little backwards sometimes.) Oh, and the very messy and ungrouted floor. I still haven’t decided what I’m going to do with the door. Well, it took a while to get here… one brilliant idea, a DIY fail, a Plan B that never got off the ground, and then a return to the original design…but I’m finished! FINALLY! And I’m pretty darn excited about how my custom made air return vent cover turned out! See for yourself (and please disregard the door. At the end of the 13th century came the pairs of dividers. Architects knew well how to use a compass, set squares and knot climbing ropes. They had lifting equipment, pulleys, winches, cranes, wheelbarrows, hammers, plumb lines, levels, stone holders and pickaxes. Usually one to two men would walk into the wheel, which would make it turn. What did they have to work with? Workers were also killed in Durham, England, during the construction of the city’s cathedral (1093-1130). Jävlar - a plural version of the above that’s often used as an interjection, like “shit!”įan ta dig - may the devil take you (“fuck you,” in so many words) Otherwise, here are some common ways to invoke the underworld in Swedish: You can find a comprehensive list of Swedish insults here. But to be sure, Swedes have no problem throwing in a kuk or a fitta when they feel moved to (the male and female sexual organs, respectively, but in disrespectful terms). Generally speaking, Scandinavian countries love to invoke the devil, Satan and Hell more than the sex- and potty humor–related fixations of English speakers. What are the most popular Swedish swear words? And if you’d like to insult someone verbally, we’ve got you covered. If you’re visiting France and want to be prepared for some of the strange hand gestures you might encounter, here’s a pretty good run-down. Need a slightly stronger version of this? Slap your bicep with your palm as you jerk the other forearm toward your face. It’s a dismissive gesture that’s meant to communicate that you don’t care or you want the other person to get lost. Next is the chin flick, which you might associate with Italy but is also common in France. So while the offense will be understood if you throw up a middle finger, it’s probably not the most offensive thing you can do. French people say “fuck” almost as much as English speakers do, and it even appears uncensored in English-language TV shows and newspaper headlines in France. Yep, that one will register in France too, which may or may not have something to do with the fact that French people really love the F-word. Let’s start with one we’re all familiar with: the middle finger. Which hand gestures are offensive in France? If you’re looking for even more creative ways to insult someone in Portuguese, we have ideas. In Portugal, you can say cona da mãe street, which literally translates to “your mother’s vagina street.” Why shouldn’t that have an address? Remember that cursing is an emotional art, and thus doesn’t have to expressly make sense. If you’re feeling extra passionate, you can just roll them all together in one stream-of-consciousness expression of angst. Some basic terms you should familiarize yourself with include foda-se (“fuck” in interjection form), caralho (“dick”), and filho da puta (“son of a bitch”). The more elaborate you get, the more you raise the stakes. Enjoy! If what you want is to become a sophisticated sommelier of curse words in other languages, this article is a good place to start diversifying your palate. That’s a certain kind of privilege, but are you really getting what you want out of life? Perhaps the tradeoff is that you can lob an F-bomb anywhere in the world and be understood. Even if you never work up the nerve to strike back, it never hurts to recognize a sick burn when you hear one.Īnd besides, how do you know that English swear words are really where it’s at? When we surveyed a small panel of our Babbel colleagues who grew up in other countries, most agreed that English profanities are kind of repetitive and overly focused on sex. Profanity certainly scratches an itch, and at the very least, it’s good to at least be aware of what people are saying to you when they’re feeling feisty. Most people go into language learning with a noble goal in mind, but it’s not unrealistic to assume you’ll have the most fun learning curse words in other languages. Overall, the Wine & Spirits Festival ended up being a rather intimate event for celebrating these two libation styles. If you can find a gem like this one you can easily start to cover your ticket fee in just a few repeat samples (as I most certainly did on this bottle alone). I found some favorite wines from French producers Chateau Pegau and Notorious and could've been found getting as many samples as allowed of the ~$60 Chateauneuf-du-Pape bottle Pegau brought. Whether you were looking for rum, tequila, whiskey, vodka, cocktails, local wine, California wine, or options from Europe or elsewhere abroad, there truly was something for everyone at this event.Īngie found new favorite of gins and whiskeys from producers like Revivalist (PA-based!) and Calumet although also would've been tempted by the spread at Maggie's Farm Rum if we didn't already own every bottle they make. While we would say that this event was slightly heavier on the spirits than the wine, we found that there was a nice mix of all styles available. So whenever we found a sample worth sharing, we simply remembered it and returned at the end of the night to try when we were ready to make a hard switch on our drink of choice. This ended up being a great decision because, to be quite honest, going back and forth between dark spirits and wine is an easy way to blow out your palate. We were guests of Pittsburgh Magazine for this party at Rivers Casino in its inaugural year and wanted to share a bit more of what this one was like in this one! In 2022, Pittsburgh Magazine returned with a new spring party, aptly named the Wine & Spirits Festival, to go along with their other libations-themed celebrations (separate wine and whiskey festivals typically taking place in the fall). In the past, we have attended events like their Best of the Burgh Party, as well as their Best Restaurants Party, which, in our opinion, is one of the greatest celebrations you can attend every year if you love our local Pittsburgh restaurants. Unless you have produced your Word doc in 100% perfect format – including Styles, no tabs anywhere ever, the right size and types of font, the right paragraph settings, and lots more stuff you don’t even want to learn about, the result will be horrible. Conversion means simply that you take your Word document and run it through a programme that converts it to either mobi (Kindle) or epub (all the others) format. The list of books at the back of all my Kindle editions – updated every time a new book comes out.Įbook formatting in practice falls into two camps: conversion or compiling. You want to make those small changes and upload a new version to Amazon et al. Another scenario – despite paying over £300 for professional proofreading, it comes to your attention that there are a couple of typos in your book that escaped the net (this has happened to me with each of my books). You’ll have to pay someone else to make these changes, even though they are simple and take seconds. If you didn’t do the formatting or conversion yourself, you’re stuffed. You want – need! – to update the page at the back of your ebook to include the Amazon link to the new book, because readers who loved any one of your previous titles are going to want to know about the new one. Let’s fast forward to the day when you have three books published, and book number four is due out. Okay, you don’t have to do it all yourself (see ‘The Easy Way’ below), but if you want ultimate control over your ebook files you will need to tackle this.
